It all started in May of 1985. Seven Utahns traveled to Ouelessebougou, Mali, West Africa in response to the horrific images of drought, starvation and death throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Determined to make a difference, they began a long-term partnership to help the Malian people overcome the challenges of extreme poverty. Next year, 25 years will have passed since that first trip, and that partnership now extends to 25 villages, where we are providing life-changing opportunities for nearly 25,000 villagers.
